The Great Information Glut

Report: The Great Information Glut

(Episode 329; 13 minutes 49) The amount of digital information stored by businesses is growing at an alarming rate. This has serious implications for the organisations that are struggling to manage the load.

It’s highlighted in a report released by Hitachi Data Systems called “The Great Information Glut” (download the pdf here) which surveyed 400 senior information and communications technology decision makers in Australian and New Zealand.

Neville Vincent, ANZ Managing Director of Hitachi Data Systems says the results demonstrate how organisations are leaving themselves exposed to unnecessary risk, reduced productivity and a lack of competitive edge.

Phil Dobbie speaks to Neville on today’s BTalk Australia, as well as to Professor Susan Williams, an information management specialist at the University of Sydney, who explains how businesses can overcome this information glut.
